Chiranjeevi faxes resignation letter to PM

Union Minister of State for Tourism K. Chiranjeevi on Friday faxed his resignation letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh urging him to accept the same.

Mr. Chiranjeevi said he was compelled to tender resignation from the Union Council of Ministers as the Cabinet decided to go ahead with division of the State ignoring the unprecedented people's movement in Seemandhra region. He thanked Dr. Singh for giving him an opportunity to be member of the Union Council of Ministers.

Meanwhile, Congress MPs - Rayapati Sambasiva Rao and Kanumuru Bapiraju, too faxed their resignation to Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar.
