Come summer vacations and children make a beeline for the Manikanta trade fair being organised at the Circus grounds in Karimnagar. The fair is organised from Ugadi onwards.
On the inaugural day on Monday, people of the town arrived in large numbers to the fair. The entrance was decorated with scenes from the Chandamama ‘Bethal’ story episode. The fair offers many games besides stalls that display various artefacts, household goods, decorative items, handlooms, dress materials etc. To suite every person’s palate, food courts serve chaat, mirchi bhajji, ice cream, and other fast food.
Manikanta trade fair organiser M. Laxman said that they would open a total of 150 stalls of various varieties of clothing, decorative items, interior decoration etc. The entrance fee has been fixed at Rs. 20 per head. He said that the exhibition would be open for a period of two months till the completion of summer vacation.
