Advising parents to ensure that their wards read the biography of Steve Jobs, noted personality development trainer B.V. Pattabhi Ram said Steve’s Apple was one among the three apples that changed the world.
“After Adam’s apple from the Bible and Newton’s apple from physics, it is Steve Job’s Apple that has contributed to the rapid changes in the world. He has proved that creativity is the only required skill to become No. 1 in the chosen field,” Mr. Pattabhi Ram said. He was speaking after releasing the Telugu version of Steve Jobs’s biography at the Rotary auditorium here.
Written originally by Walter Isakson in English, the biography was translated into Telugu by city-based writer Godavarthi Satyamurthy. Referring to the challenges faced by Jobs in his career, Mr. Pattabhi Ram said winners would never quit.
“Similarly, quitters never win, and this is the lesson one must learn from the life of Jobs. Even as he was suffering from cancer, Jobs never stopped working.
Design and determination helped him develop his career,” he said. “Gift this book to your children and make them sit and read. You can see a sea change in their attitude after finishing this book,” he told parents.
Introducing the book to the audience, poet K. Ramachandra Reddy said Jobs was a not a clever student in the classroom. “Creativity is the quality that makes him different from the crowd. His passion for technological development made him do wonders with the Apple,” he said.
Mr. Satyamurthy said it took eight months for him to translate the book into Telugu, and that he considered it as a rare opportunity.
Rotary district governor D.V.R. Poosha recalled that he was one among the first users of Apple products in the coastal region. Ricky Gootam presided over the function in which writers and poets from the city participated.
