Condoling the death of Telugu workers in a >wall collapse in Tamil Nadu’s Thiruvallur district on Sunday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu asked a senior official to go to the spot and help the victims.

Naidu asked Labour Commissioner Ramanjaneyulu to rush to Thiruvallur to supervise the rescue and relief operations, an official release said here.

At least 11 construction workers were today killed after a newly built compound wall adjacent to their huts collapsed near Uttarapalayam in Tiruvallur district.

The labourers, many of them said to be from Andhra Pradesh, were working in a private godown.

The mishap occurred after heavy rains lashed the area last night, police said.

Tiruvallur District Collector K Veera Raghava Rao visited the accident spot and said those responsible for the incident would be punished.
