Chain-snatching gang busted

The Madanapalle police on Sunday busted a notorious gang wanted in connection with multiple chain snatching offences in the Madanapalle division. Police made the arrests when the three-member gang was moving suspiciously on the outskirts of the town. The accused were identified as S Venkatesh, G Viswanath and K Manjunath of Madanapalle. Their modus operandi was to waylay women at isolated spots and commit the offences at nightfall. Police also seized 268 grams of gold and 200 grams silver articles from them. A case was registered and the gang was remanded to custody.
