Senior TDP leader and former MLA Chadalavada Krishnamurthy was here on Saturday sworn in Chairman of the TTD Trust Board – that manages the affairs of the richest temple of Lord Venkateswara in the country.

At a brief ceremony organised at ‘Bangaru vakili’ inside the temple TTD Executive Officer D. Sambasiva Rao administered him the oath of office and secrecy.

Mr. Krishnamurthy has been nominated to the coveted post for being giving up his claim for the Telugu Desam party ticket in the run-up to the 2014 Assembly elections.

Eleven other members of the board Pilli Ananta Lakshmi, D.S. Veeranjaneya Swamy, and Kolla Lalitha Kumari (TDP MLAs from A.P), G. Sayanna (MLA from Telangana), Putta Sudhakar Yadav, A.V. Ramana, Suchitra Ella, Sampath Ravi Narayanan, P. Hari Prasad, J. Sekhar also took oath along with the TTD’s EO Sambasiva Rao as ex-officio member.

While another nominee DP Ananth took oath in the evening K. Raghavendra Rao preferred taking oath on another auspicious muhurtham despite being present at the ceremony.

Meanwhile, the darshan lines were interrupted for more than two hours during the day so as to facilitate the oath taking ceremony.

Prominent among others who were present at the ceremony included Forest Minister B. Gopalakrishna Reddy, Tirupati MLA Suguna, former Chandragiri MLA G. Aruna Kumari, ZP Chairman Girwani and Chittoor Mayor Anuradha.
