Governor E. S. L. Narasimhan has said that Centre will take an appropriate decision on Telangana issue which would satisfy people of all regions. He said that AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh, currently touring Andhra Pradesh, was taking the opinion of different leaders.

Mr. Narasimhan, who was here to attend a family ritual, was speaking informally to reporters at R and B Guest House here on Monday.

When reporters asked him whether there was any deadline for announcing a decision on Telangana, he declined to make a specific commitment on the ground that he did not have any personal opinion on this issue. “Public opinion is my opinion”.

He said that Mr. Digvijay Singh is now camping in Hyderabad and he is busy in meeting leaders of all three regions and expected to submit a detailed report by next week.

“In a democracy, everyone has right to express their views and opinions on various issues. Let them express,” the Governor added.

When his attention was drawn to the State government’s alleged failure in extending support to victims of Uttarakhand calamity, the Governor said that the administration had extended relief services satisfactorily.

He said he would look into the controversy over the Havelock Bridge in Rajahmundry which the Railway Board plans to dismantle and sell away the steel.

He had not received any report or complaint on the issue.

Why is the State Governor poking his nose into political matters?
Does he want to be the third leg of the TROIKA along with CM and APCC
Chief to prove to his mentors in Delhi that he can be a clean broker
instead of being an honest Governor of the tarnished, troubled state?
