The Department of Electronics and Information Technology of the Central government has asked the State government to undertake a makeover of the Mee Seva (at your service), the flagship scheme for electronic delivery of services, to suit the requirements at the national level as also enable other States to replicate it.
Secretary, Department of IT, J. Satyanarayana said the scheme had stabilised within one year of its launch and was delivering over 50 services across the counter. “There is no reason why it can’t be expanded so that other States and Central government can leverage the architecture for providing effective services,” he said.
Mr. Satyanarayana was here on Thursday in connection with the inauguration of eighth edition of eIndia 2012 coinciding with the first anniversary of the Mee Seva. He said Mee Seva was developed on the architecture that had proven its robustness in delivering citizen-centric services.
“This can be hosted in the central cloud so that other States can utilise it with minor modifications rather than rediscovering the entire structure and service delivery pattern adopted here,” he said.
Electronic delivery of services witnessed a significant growth over the past few years but the department was yet to arrive at exact details of service wise utilisation of the facility. The current level of monthly transactions across the country was pegged at 8.2 crore. The department had targeted to achieve 15 crore transactions by the end of 2014 and 30 crore by 2020, he added. The new ICT policy approved by the Union Cabinet recently was focussed more on small and medium enterprises, particularly to encourage them in developing products catering to domestic segment.
Close to 20 projects were being readied in this direction while the ambitious national optic fibre network project taking IT services to doorstep of the common man was scheduled for commissioning by the end of next year.

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy who was chief guest at the inaugural of the two-day event said the government had no objection to share the service with other States as well as the Centre and efforts would be made to modify the platform to suit the needs. He said the government was planning to enhance the number of services to over 100 in the coming days along with achieving two crore transactions a year so that people could get certificates in a hassle free manner.
