The Central government has reportedly asked Andhra Pradesh Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan to be present in New Delhi on Thursday for detailed consultations on the issue of Telangana and the situation in the State.

The Governor will leave Hyderabad on Wednesday. The invite from the Centre comes in the light of reports that the Congress leadership has focussed its attention on finding a solution to the Telangana issue.

On Monday AICC president Sonia Gandhi had discussed the issue with senior party leaders. Mr. Narasimhan is expected to meet Congress core committee members Ahmed Patel, A.K. Antony, P. Chidambaram and Sushil Kumar Shinde during his two-day visit. He is also likely to meet AICC general secretary in charge of AP affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad and other senior leaders.
