‘Centre failed to tackle distress in banking sector’

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said that the Union government has failed in tackling the massive delinquencies in the banking sector that pushed many banks to the verge of bankruptcy. This was one of the inefficiencies of the Centre, he observed.

During his speech at the ‘Dharma Porata Deeksha’ on Friday evening, Mr. Naidu, who heads a committee appointed by the Centre for expanding the digital payment solutions post-demonetisation, said the Centre had also fumbled on that count.

The meagre steps taken by it resulted in the cash-crunch seen at banks and ATMs these days, he said.
