Urges him to look into exploitation of people living in the vicinity of JSW cement factory

An all-party delegation met Collector C. Sudharsan Reddy here on Monday and appealed to him to immediately look into the problem of people living in the vicinity of JSW Cement Plant near Bilakala Gudur and Bujanur.

K. Ramanjaneyulu, Coordinator, T. Shadrak (CPI-M), K. Jagannatham (CPI), T. Tirupal Babu, (TDP), T. Seshaphani (BC, ST, SC and Minority Ikya Vedika), Pinakapani (Virasam), N.S. Sekhar Sarma (Vidyavanthula Vedika), N. Somasundaram (MRPS), Gouse Desai (CITU) and others were among those who met the Collector.

Mr. Reddy told the delegation that Joint Collector K. Kannababu was named the designated officer to look into the issues of the cement factory and render justice to the victims.

Probe promised

The delegation which met the Joint Collector was told that an inquiry would be conducted in the affected villages to ascertain the facts relating to the charges against the factory.

So far, 15 demands were made against the management which include adequate compensation on par with market rates, restricting the mining activities to a distance from the residential areas, restoring of D. Patta lands to the poor and jobs to the local people.

Plan to intensify stir

The all-party panel decided to intensify the struggle to help the victims who were in a hapless state.
