Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K. Chandrasekhar Rao has asked the Centre not to test the patience of Telangana people any further with endless talks and committees on their demand for statehood to the region.
Foisting cases against agitators, keeping them in jails and punishing them for participating in the movement would not cow down the struggle, he said while addressing Telangana Employees' Joint Action Committee (TE-JAC) dharna here on Tuesday. Such an attitude would help the movement bounce back like a ball with renewed vigour when it was hit hard to the ground, he said.
Taking a dig at the provocative and oppressive measures of the government, the TRS chief said: All your efforts to induce us (the movement) to violence won't succeed as people are not ready to fall in the trap.
Instead of working for a logical end to the situation, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy is holding threats with ESMA, no work no pay and others. But, they would not work, he lamented.
It was time all Telangana people remained united and firm on their resolve for statehood as some activity on the issue was going on in Delhi. He reiterated that Telangana as on October 31, 1956 was what people were fighting for and they didn't want Rayalaseema or any other area clubbed with their region.
