Capital survey from tomorrow

Equipped with latest tablets, as many 80 survey teams from District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) would be fanning out in the 29 villages of Capital region from Monday to conduct a comprehensive household survey.

The survey would have comprehensive details of individual households, including the size, type, social group, ownership and land holding etc. Information collected would be fed into the tabs and real time assessment would be done at the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) office.

Commissioner of CRDA N. Srikant also instructed the personnel to explain about the benefits of land pooling taking the landowners and farm labourers into confidence. Apart from a social security allowance of Rs.2,500 every month, the government would be promising free house sites to poor people and alternative livelihood options.

Divided into nine blocks, the survey would cover details of general educational levels, skill details and occupation of members of the household. It would also take note of existing level of skills classifying the people into skilled, semi skilled and unskilled.
