The meeting of several employees associations from the State with Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu to discuss the 10{+t}{+h}Pay Revision Commission report here on Tuesday turned out to be an informal one.
With other members of the Cabinet Sub-Committee away in the districts in view of Sankranti, it was decided to organise another meeting, tentatively after Janury 17, to have a serious discussion on issues such as employees’ demands and hike to be proposed by the government. The PRC Commissioner had recommended 29 per cent pay revision when compared to the 27 per cent interim relief to the employees awarded by the united Andhra Pradesh government.
AP NGOs Association president P.Ashok Babu and other association leaders said: “As the government is yet to reveal its plans on the fitment, we reiterate our demand of 69 per cent pay hike, keeping in view the inflation rate. However, it is negotiable.”
The Joint Action Committee of Employees, Teachers, Workers and Pensioners, Andhra Pradesh, in its representation, said there would be no compromise on their demand for the implementation of pay revision, with effect from July 1, 2013.
The other demands included increasing minimum pay from Rs.13,000 to Rs.15,000 and maximum pay from Rs.1, 10,850 to Rs.1,37,600, regularisation of services of contract employees and full time contingent workers, and increasing maximum increment from 2.33 per cent to 2.83 per cent. They also sought hike in gratuity to Rs.15 lakh from Rs.12 lakh.
