Bureaucrats resent Botcha’s remarks against Mohanty

February 12, 2014 02:35 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 06:37 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Several IAS officers took strong exception to Transport Minister Botcha Satyanarayana targeting the Chief Secretary P.K. Mohanty over issuance of the Government Order (GO) related to irrigation projects.

Senior bureaucrats said the Minister should have take it up with the Irrigation Minister or the CM.

When the file had not even come to the Chief Secretary, how could he be blamed? It was highly unethical to target senior bureaucrats, they said.

Each and every Minister was competent to take policy decisions. It was unfortunate that time and again some Ministers were blaming the bureaucrats who would go by the business rules. “It was a ploy to intimidate officials and use them to settle their political scores,” they said.

The IAS Officers’ Association decided to hold a meeting to discuss the increasing unfair accusations against the bureaucrats.
