Spiritual fervour marked the beginning of the ‘Vasantha Paksha Prayukta Srirama Navami Brahmotsavam’ in Bhadrachalam, the abode of Lord Sitaramachandra Swamy, on Tuesday.

The temple priests performed Vishesha Snapanam to the Utsav idols of Lord Rama and his consort Sita at Beda mandapam on the premises of the main temple complex in the morning. Scores of devotees watched the initiatory rituals held amid recital of Vedic chants inside the temple complex.

Later, the priests performed another important ritual – Ankuraropanam marking the formal start of the Brahmotsavam festivities. Tiru Veedhi Seva was organised in the evening.

‘Koti Talambralu’

Meanwhile, a group of devotees from East Godavari district in AP brought the sacred “Koti Talambralu” in tune with the decades-old tradition in Bhadrachalam on Tuesday, the sources said.

The ardent devotees of Lord Rama presented the holy “Koti Talambralu” to the temple authorities for use in the ensuing Sri Sitarama Tirukalyana Mahotsavam to be held on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami in Bhadrachalam on March 28.
