The leaders of Brahmin and Vysya communities on Wednesday demanded that all political partiesshould take the communities into consideration while finalising candidates for the Assembly and Parliamentary segments in Seemandhra region.

Speaking at a media conference at the Press Club, the leaders including K.V.S.R.S. Achari, Nimishakavi Venkatesh, Durvasula Sattibabu, Kotha Nageswara Rao, Dantu Prasad said that in 2009 polls, the BJP had offered the party ticket for Rajahmundry Assembly to Savithala Chakrabhaskar Rao and this time, he had applied for the same. The leaders said that political parties should consider the name of Srikagolla Sivarama Subrahmanyam, former Chairman of the APIIC and senior leader in Vysya community for the poll-bound segments. The leaders also said that they would think of fielding candidates independently, if the parties failed to offer ticket to the candidates from the communities.
