B.P. Acharya granted bail

Senior IAS officer B.P. Acharya, prime accused in the case of alleged irregularities in APIIC-Emaar Properties, was granted conditional bail by the special court for CBI cases here on Tuesday.

The court directed Mr. Acharya to furnish a personal bond of Rs. 1 lakh and two more sureties of equal amount for execution of the bail. The suspended IAS officer was asked to appear before the CBI officials every Friday. He has been in judicial custody since January 31. The CBI had charged Mr. Acharya and others with committing irregularities in land transfer and sale of apartments and villas in the integrated township project.
