Book reading a key to excellence, say speakers

April 24, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:47 am IST - NELLORE:

The speakers at a meeting held to mark the celebration of World Book Day stressed the need for the youth and the present day generation to realise the importance of the book reading habit as a key component of the overall personality development.

The celebrations were held at the Venkatagiri Rajah’s College premises to mark the birthday anniversary celebrations of English playwright William Shakespeare.

Speaking on the occasion, VRC principal C.V.S. Bhasker said that the books retained their value among the growing population of knowledge seekers regardless of the fact that the electronic age has been overwhelming the world with its new inventions and communication revolution. Mr. Bhasker said that for the all-round development a student’s personality or anybody for that matter, the book reading habit would remain the central contributing factor.
