The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of the Andhra Pradesh unit on Thursday reiterated its demand of convening an all-party meeting to discuss about the preventive measures to control and check further spread of swine flu in the state.

Accusing the state government of failing to take effective measures to prevent spread the H1N1 virus, BJP floor leader in the Assembly G. Kishan Reddy demanded the state to convene an all-party meeting immediately.

“The sudden rise in the number of swine flu cases in the state has created a panic among the people and the government has not taken adequate steps to prevent the spread of the virus which has so far claimed 26 lives in the state,” he said.

Mr. Reddy said that the state machinery, which is in deep slumber, should wake up and take necessary measures to control the swine flu virus along with dengue and malaria, which have spread in various districts, before the situation go out of hand.
