BJP activists celebrate party victory in four states

BJP State official spokesman Jupudi Rangaraju has said that rampant corruption, insecurity and poor governance were the main reasons for the defeat of the Congress in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Chhattisgarh Assembly polls.

The BJP, under the leadership of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, will sweep in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions in the ensuing Assembly elections, he predicted.

Victory rally

BJP activists took out a rally in the city and celebrated the victory of the party by burning crackers and offered sweets to one another at the party office, at Arundalpet in the city, on Sunday.

The party leaders raised slogans in favour of Narendra Modi, who contributed to the success of the BJP in the four States. Speaking to the newsmen at a joint press conference later, Mr. Rangaraju and city unit president Aluru Koteswara Rao said the party will send a good number of MPs and MLAs from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions.

“The polls in the four States proved that people are vexed with the anti-people policies of the UPA-led Congress Government. In Andhra Pradesh, Congress party is direction less and people are ready to dethrone the party,” said Mr. Rangaraju.

In Mizoram elections too, BJP will improve its performance and bag maximum number of seats, and the poll results were an inspiration for the activists in AP, said Mr. Koteswara Rao. Party State executive members Nerella Madhava Rao and Jagan, Mahila Morcha city unit president Shaik Muntaj Begum, Guntur secretary B. Sridevi, leaders Vanama Purnachander Rao, P. Ravi Kumar and others participated in the victory rally.
