March 26, 2014 11:05 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 07:03 pm IST - SRIKAKULAM:

Bharatiya Janata Party Seemandhra wing president Kambhampati Haribabu on Wednesday made it clear that the party would contest all the seats if the alliance talks with the Telugu Desam Party were not fruitful.

He, however, did not divulge the number seats and constituencies which were sought by the BJP in the talks. Mr. Haribabu kicked off the party’s electoral campaign in Srikakulam. Speaking on the occasion, he said residual Andhra Pradesh would witness rapid development on the lines of Gujarat if Narendra Modi was made Prime Minister of the country. BJP’s campaign committee convener D. Purandeswari said in the wake of bifurcation of the State, Seemandhra had got a decent package only because of the efforts of the BJP.

Actor-turned-politician U.V. Krishnam Raju said the Gujarat model of development was the need of the hour for every State in the country.

BJP State vice-president Bandaru Rangamohan, BJP Srikakulam wing president Kotagiri Narayana Rao, party leaders -- Pudi Tirupati Rao and Pydi Venugopalam were present.
