The BJP, which has been insisting on credit for the grant of the slew of packages for Seemandhra, is all set to take yet another formidable step to woo the average voter on their side.
By releasing the transcript of Lok Sabha leader Sushma Swaraj demanding justice to the region before taking up bifurcation, the party feels it can win back the voters who are sore over the party extending support to Congress in bifurcation.
“The Congress was strong in Lok Sabha and it attempted to bulldoze the bill by disrupting transmission of telecast and locking up the doors. Attempts were made to pass the bill in the din. We will soon release the transcript to let people understand that it was the BJP leader who demanded justice for the region, even as standing firm on supporting bifurcation, going by its commitment to smaller States,” the party’s election campaign in-charge Daggubati Purandeswari told media persons here on Friday.
Ms. Purandeswari said the Seemandhra leaders failed to demand their due by sticking to Samaikandhra bogey.
Buoyed by the response to the Madanapalle public meeting, the party closed its first round of canvassing by covering all districts of Seemandhra, with similar meetings held in Nellore and Ongole on Thursday.
Party president K. Haribabu hoped the alliance with TDP would fructify by Saturday.
“If it materialises, we will sail together, or else we will go alone,” he said.
