BJP to form panel to review pending projects

January 31, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - TIRUPATI:

BJP State president and MP (Visakhapatnam) K. Haribabu on Friday said the party would form a State-level panel, headed by senior leader S.V. Seshagiri Rao, to review pending projects.

The MP said several projects were marred by hiccups and expressed hope that the exercise would help the government accelerate their execution. “There are indications of drought-like conditions in the Rayalaseema and a severe shortage of water and fodder. These will be addressed effectively ,” he added.

Stressing the need for disinvestment of power and decentralisation of administration, Mr. Haribabu said it could be achieved by carving out every parliamentary constituency as a new district.

He also called for the scrapping of EAMCET to prevent students from opting for other States. Mr. Haribabu said students should be given admission based on the marks secured in the Intermediate examination.
