Bharatiya Janata Party will come out with two manifestoes for Telangana and successor Andhra Pradesh State in the coming Assembly and Lok sabha elections.
Disclosing this at a press conference here on Wednesday, former union minister and senior BJP leader Ch. Vidyasagar Rao said the party was ready for elections. Development would be the main poll plank of the party, apart from Telangana issue. Unlike other parties, there were no fences-sitters and back-stabbers in BJP, he claimed.
Mr. Rao criticised Union Minister Jairam Ramesh saying that the series of sops announced by him for Seemandhra was creating a sense of insecurity among the people of Telangana. He said the BJP would shortly come out with a development plan for Telangana.
Regarding the submergence of seven mandals in Bhadrachalam division due to Polavaram project, he maintained that the opinion of the tribals would have to be taken through gram sabhas under the Panchayati Raj Extension Act. He said the BJP would formulate its opinion submergence issue after seeking everyone’s views on it.
The BJP leader urged Election Commission to keep a strict watch and curb money power in the elections as lot “black money would come out”.
