The BJP Karimnagar district unit leaders have expressed their ire against the party high command for forging an alliance with the TDP and suppressing the growth of the party in the Telangana.

Talking to newsmen here on Monday, party Karimnagar district president M. Arjun Rao said that the party rank and file was disappointed and unhappy over the alliance with the TDP, which is a sinking boat in Telangana. He said that the several leaders belonging to the TDP had left the party and contested local bodies’ elections as Independents or joined other political parties. He also said that some of the TDP leaders had campaigned in the local bodies elections without using the photo of its president N. Chandrababu Naidu.

On the other hand, the BJP had regained its lost glory for crusading for the cause of separate Telangana, he claimed and added that the party is ready to contest from all the 13 Assembly segments and two Parliament constituencies in the district.

Finding fault with the party state unit for allocating Peddapalli Assembly seat to the TDP as part of alliance, he said that the TDP does not have any cadres in the segment and added the party would lose the seat if contests the election. He appealed to the party State unit to rethink about its decision and allocate the Peddapalli assembly seat to BJP State vice-president G. Ramakrishna Reddy, who had already filed his nomination papers.

Responding to a query, he said that they are ready to resign en masse if the party high command fails to allocate the Peddapalli Assembly segment seat to the party leader. He also said that Mr. Reddy would also contest from the segment as Independent and win with a thumping majority.
