BJP senior leader Ch Vidyasagar Rao has demanded that the Union government announce a special package to Telangana State on par with the residuary State.

The Telangana region was exploited on all fronts by the Seemandhra leaders and it should be given a special package for its self-rule, he pointed out, adding that the BJP after attaining power at the Centre after polls would definitely announce a special package for Telangana.

Talking to newsmen here on Friday, Mr. Vidyasagar Rao said that the BJP would make each district in Telangana as IT hub and also encourage navigation on the river Godavari and also tap the available water sources for the development of the region.

Reiterating that the BJP would play a crucial role in rebuilding the Telangana State, he stressed on the need for the constitution of a Joint Expert Committee (JEC) on the lines of the JAC for rebuilding the Telangana State.

President's Rule welcomed

Welcoming the Union Cabinet’s nod for the imposition of President’s Rule in Andhra Pradesh, he said that they had been demanding for the same since long as there was no administration in the State due to the ‘inefficient’ Chief Minister and the Ministers.

“However, it is better to be late than never, the President’s rule is imposed,” he maintained.

Expressing concern over the delay in President giving nod for the Telangana Bill, he said that the people were worried over the delay in the issuing of gazette notification. Stating that the Congress government had announced Telangana State only because of BJP’s vow to carve out the Telangana State after attaining power at the Centre, he said that BJP leader Sushma Swaraj gave good direction in the formation of Telangana State and remained as “Chinnamma” in the hearts of the people. BJP leaders G Ramakrishna Reddy, M Arjun Rao, Bandi Sanjay Kumar and others were also present.
