Betrayal of Rayalaseema: Chinta Mohan

November 09, 2015 02:42 pm | Updated 02:42 pm IST - TIRUPATI:

Former Member of Parliament Chinta Mohan has taken serious exception to the transfer of the state-level Cancer Institute from Tirupati to Guntur and dubbed it ‘betrayal’ of Tirupati and Rayalaseema.

Mr. Mohan recalled that the then union minister Jairam Ramesh had laid the foundation stone for the facility in the Ruia Hospital complex on February 26, 2014, while adding that the present Union Health Minister had even made a mention in the Rajya Sabha about the hospital sanctioned to Tirupati.

In this context, he condemned the statement reportedly made by the State Health Minister on Saturday to this effect.
