‘Begin Dugarajapatnam port works’

April 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - NELLORE:

Former MP and senior Congress leader Chinta Mohan on Saturday demanded that the Centre took immediate steps to begin works for the development of Dugarajapatnam port at Tupilipalem village in Vakadu mandal.

Taking strong exception to the inordinate delay in the grounding of the works, he alleged that the State and the Central governments were not evincing interest in the port works.

“The governments are instead working on the development of other facilities such as National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) at the site which was allocated for the Dugarajapatnam port at Tupilipalem village.

In a statement, the former MP said his party would launch a stir, if the construction of the major port was delayed further.
