BCs divided over taking on Mudragada

June 24, 2016 12:00 am | Updated October 18, 2016 02:56 pm IST - TIRUPATI:

The Backward Classes associations appear to be divided over taking on Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham.

Though the BCs are keen on fighting against the government’s decision to extend reservation for Kapus, leadership issue seems to have cropped up among the organisations, especially in Rayalaseema. A day after BC leader Anna Ramachandraiah Yadav announced formation of a JAC to take the agitation to a higher level, it was questioned by a rival group led by K.A. Raju, national general secretary of BC Welfare Association. At a media conference here on Thursday, Mr. Raju questioned Mr. Yadav’s authority in forming the JAC. He also expressed doubts over the JAC’s strength to take on a powerful leader like Mr. Padmanabham.
