June 30, 2016 12:00 am | Updated September 16, 2016 05:03 pm IST - RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM:

Members of the Bar Council on Wednesday met the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, and submitted a representation to him seeking protection to judicial officers of Andhra Pradesh working in the court.

In a statement issued here, Bar Council member M. Subba Rao said that he, along with other members Rama Rao Ganta, Krishna Mohan, Ravindra Kumar Kanakamedala, Srinivasa Reddy V, Chidambaram Kaligineedi, Gokulakrishna B, Brahma Reddy Vattijonnala, Venkata Ramana Murty B, Rami Reddy A, Sunkara Rajendra Prasad, and Ravi Guvera, also requested the Acting Chief Justice to expedite the process of establishing a High Court for Andhra Pradesh within the territory of the State.

The members condemned the attack on the judicial officer from A.P. working in Warangal and the use of abusive language against the judiciary. They brought to the notice of the Acting Chief Justice that the judicial officers of Telangana, who are functioning in Andhra Pradesh, were being treated with respect. “We will continue to treat them well and not cause any hindrance in the discharge of their duties,” they said. The members appealed to advocates in A.P. to respect the judicial officers.
