The Visakhapatnam Cooperative Bank has lodged a complaint with the Srikakulam police alleging that its personnel were attacked by a loanee when they went to his house to recover the monthly instalments from him.

Bank chairperson Chalasani Raghavendra Rao, CEO P.V. Narasimha Murthy and others gave a representation to Srikakulam DSP Bhargava Naidu to take stern action against the person.

According to them, Jallu Rajiv took ₹8 lakh as home loan from the bank, but refused to pay the instalments. The bank staff members were manhandled when they went to his house.

Mr. Raghavendra Rao said Mr. Rajiv filed a police complaint. “Banks cannot recover loans if defaulters behave like this. We requested the police to take action against him and his friends,” the chairperson added.
