YSRC State general secretary Balineni Srinivasa Reddy apologised to the party activists for keeping himself away from the constituency in the last six months.
After the party activists brought the issue to the notice of YSRC chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, the latter said: “Vasanna (Srinivasa Reddy) would stay put in Ongole and attend to the problems of the party cadre.”
The four-time MLA, after being drubbed by TDP’s D. Janardhana Rao in the last Assembly elections, confided with the party cadre at a party meeting that he had kept away from the constituency, unable to digest the defeat. Mr Srinivasa Reddy on Tuesday declared that he would leave no stone unturned to bring the YSRC to power in the next elections.
The party activists from Ongole, Kondepi, Darsi, Kanigiri, Markapur, Giddalur and Yerragondapalem constituencies complained to Mr. Jaganmohan that the ruling TDP, in connivance with the officials, was removing the names of YSRC sympathisers from the list of beneficiaries of various welfare schemes.
They also wanted the YSRC chief to come up with a group insurance scheme for the party workers and also set up a welfare fund to take care of the party workers in trouble.
