Babu Mohan set to join TRS

March 29, 2014 10:48 pm | Updated May 19, 2016 12:39 pm IST - SANGAREDDY:

Former Minister and TDP leader P. Babu Mohan is all set to join Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS). A public meeting would be held Jogipet on April 1 where party president K. Chandrasekhar Rao will formally admitting Mr. Babu Mohan in the party.

Rumours are ripe for the past few weeks in the political circles that Mr. Babu Mohan would quit the party and join TRS, which he denied repeatedly. He has even attributed the hand of his political opponent and former Deputy Chief Minister C. Damodara Rajanarasimha behind the vicious campaign that he was quitting the party. Within 48 hours after issuing the denial statement, the TDP former Minister announced his resignation alleging that party has held a survey on his winning chances and handed over the responsibility of issuing B-forms to party candidates in the ongoing local body elections. “I had served the party even if I lost financially and sold my assets at various places. Finally the party has ditched me forcing me to quit the party,” he told reporters on the day of resignation, March 23.

As Mr. Babu Mohan met Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao at the party office, it seems only formality of his joining in the party remained. The TRS feels that he would the best bet against Mr. Damodar in the present political conditions.

Mr. Harish Rao, along with party district unit president R. Satyanaratana, visited the proposed public meeting site and supervised arrangements on Friday.
