Practically every speaker spoke of a dream and how it was fructified on Sunday evening. That was all about the audio release of ‘Rushi', a film that was made by Prasad Productions after a gap of three decades. The last product from this prestigious banner was ‘Ek Duje Ke Liye'.
It was almost as if the late L.V. Prasad was alive and before the audience at the function held at Screen 5 of the multiplex. Magician Samala Venu helped actor Kamal Haasan conjure a portrait of the late filmmaking legend and set the tone for a music function with a magical difference. A few minutes before though, the conjuror made the actor himself appear on stage from a small wooden cabin that was ‘empty' a moment before.
Those who spoke, included A. Ramesh Prasad, Chairman, Prasad's Group and producer D. Rama Naidu apart from most of the cast and crew of the film. Interestingly, ‘Rushi', that has the tag line ‘My Romance with Life', also has a description preceding the title that goes ‘If medicine is a penance, a doctor is a Rushi' (sage). It has Arvind Krishna, son of IAS officer C.V.S.K. Sharma and a lissome Supriya, from Mumbai in the lead and was directed by Raj Madiraju.
Dream debut
While lyrics of all the 10 songs was penned by Krishna Chinni, the music was scored by Snigdha, Raj and Chandran, a trio brought together to work for the film, with the music being released through Aditya Music. The dream debut for the director, the actress and the music directors too, is to be released in the third week of February.
Mr. Kamal Haasan shared his experiences during the decades-old relationship he had with Mr. Prasad's family and the latter described the actor as an intrinsic part of the growth of the group.
