AU to fill 506 teaching staff

Andhra University is soon going to issue a notification to fulfil 506 posts of the teaching staff in the University and its PG Centres, according to K. Rama Mohana Rao, Registrar. Addressing a press conference at the University’s PG Centre here on Tuesday, Mr. Rao admitted that the University was facing the problem of shortage of teaching staff and research assistants and it was quite a long time to take up the recruitment drive. As the government sanctioned the posts, arrangements were in place to release the notification inviting applications from the eligible, he said.

Special Officer of the PG Centre P. Arun Kumar said that the centre was conducting a seminar to highlight the importance of social sciences on December 7. He recalled that Professor Haragopal made an attempt to raise the issue in the Unified Andhra Pradesh State, but the issue took the backseat due to the separate Telangana movement. He further said that Ambedkar Park that was developed on the PG Centre campus would be inaugurated on December 6, coinciding with the death anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar.
