Ashok launches works in ‘adopted village’

Union Civil Aviation Minister P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Saturday launched developmental works at Dwarapudi, the village that he had adopted under the Sansad Grameena Yojana, by laying stones for CC roads, drains, culverts, and panchayat office building at an estimated cost of Rs. 39.45lakh.

A plan of action has been prepared for as many as 83 works that will be executed with an MNREGP grant of Rs. 1.84 crore. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister appealed to villagers to take part in developmental activities to transform Dwarapudi into a model village.

He advised the elected representatives not to give priority to personal agenda. He also participated in the ‘Rythu Saadhikarata’ programme, planted saplings and distributed loan waiver certificates to 12 farmers. Minister K. Mrunalini, MLA M. Geeta and ZP chairperson Sobha Swati Rani spoke.
