A local court has dismissed the bail petition moved by Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday.

Mr. Asaduddin's advocates moved the bail petition after the Special Excise and Prohibition court remanded him to 14-day custody in a case registered in 2005 for obstructing a civil servant from discharging his duties in which the Hyderabad MP was accused. His brother MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi is also an accused in the case.

Judicial First Class Magistrate K. Maruthi Devi who heard the arguments dismissed the petition.
