Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president and Hyderabad Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday took exception to Israel Ambassador Alon Ushpiz meeting Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police V. Dinesh Reddy the previous day.

“Logically, the diplomat had met the police chief instead of Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy or Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan or industrialists during his visit to Hyderabad on Tuesday” he said.

Public meeting

At a public meeting in this town, the Majlis president said Mr. Ushpiz’s meeting with the DGP raised doubts as the Israeli government and Jews were anti-Muslims.

Mr. Owaisi had earlier referred to a message sent by Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh.

The message, according to the MIM leader, asked the Indian Prime Minister to strengthen ties with Israel ignoring the stand of Muslims in the country.

“Mr. Manmohan Singh and the Congress remained silent on this proposal,” Mr. Owaisi observed.

“Any decision in this regard should depend on the relevant national policy,” he added.
