The judicial remand of industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad and bureaucrat K.V. Brahmananda Reddy was extended till June 21 by the Special Court for CBI Cases here on Tuesday.

The two were arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the disproportionate assets case against YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy on May 15. Based on a memo filed by the investigating agency stating that it was necessary to extend judicial custody of the accused since the probe into the case was in progress, the judge extended their remand.

They were produced before the court through video-conferencing facility from Chanchalguda prison.

In another petition filed by N. Sunil Reddy, an accused in the Emaar Properties case, opposing the grant of pardon to T. Ranga Rao, another accused in the case who had filed a petition seeking pardon to turn an approver for the prosecution, the judge reserved orders for June 18.
