The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday dismissed a public interest petition filed by YSR Congress president, Y. S. Vijayamma seeking the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and other central agencies to inquire into alleged disproportionate assets of former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

A division bench of the High Court comprising Justice G. Rohini and Justice Asutosh Mohanto said that the writ petition of Ms. Vijayamma, widow of former Andhra Pradesh P Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy does not satisfy parameters of public interest litigation.

The bench speaking through Justice Rohini declared the order issued by another Division Bench on November 14, ordering a preliminary inquiry by CBI against Mr. Naidu and others, to be violative of principles of natural justice.

The bench observed that there was political rivalry and the present writ petition appeared to be counter attack. The petition amounted to abuse of process of court under the guise of PIL.

In the petition Ms. Vijayamma had accused Mr. Naidu of doling out several favours to select corporate houses and amassed huge wealth.

I have read some of the comments posted here and noticed how ignorant
and biased most of the comments are. How many of really think Naidu is
not guilty and only YSR is guilty? I have a family member belonging to
the TDP party and know for sure that Mr. Naidu is as guilty as YSR. The
only difference is that YSR has amassed wealth more than Naidu did. Even
though the case was politically motivated, only a CBI inquiry can prove
any of these allegations. If Naidu is not guilty, i guess he himself
should have his assets revealed to the public.

This is a victory for Naidu and people of andhra pradesh. The PIL against Naidu was politically motivated by riveraly poltcal party YSR congress president Jagan mohan reddy through her mother and mis leaded people of andhra. Instead of facing CBI inquiry which is going on him,as YSR looted the AP through many ways odf quid pro and cheated people of AP by saying welfare schems his doing.YS jagan reddy amassed 1 lakh crores of Public money when his father was CM. People of AP should need to aware how YSR & his son Jagan reddy looted AP public money and CBI should need to recory that money from jagan reddy by doing proper inquiry and should need to arrest YS jagan.

See Jagan supporters are mislead by wrong information from Sakshi paper/TV. I am much worried that if this continous confusion persists then people will fully lost faith in everything (CBI, High COURT, Supreme Court).

why have court stayed investigation of CBI against the Chandrababu naidu?
He has been facing somany critis regarding his wealth/property. this is right time to do investigation on both people then only people should have opportunity to know their political intention.

Looks like Naidu is the only leader in AP capable of putting things back in order.

Even though Court might have dismissed the case on Naidu, TDP will be wiped out from TELANGANA as NAIDU has cheated 40 million people of Telangana by taking a U-turn on Telanagana on December 10, 2009 after the announcement of Telangana and for organizing resignations drama with Congress and TDP Seemandhra leaders. TRS will sweep TELANGANA in the next bye elections in Telangana and in 2014.

At last honest and visionary leaders like Naidu have the last laugh. Long live Indian Judiciary.

Of late, it is evident that Jagan & TRS are both targeting Chandrababu
Naidu maybe because they feel that he might benefit from the anti-
incumbency that the ruling congress will face in the elections. They
both would ideally like to damage the reputation of Chandrababu Naidu
as much as possible and the above PIL by Vijayamma is just one attempt
at this. YSR congress very well knows that their PIL will be dismissed
but what they would want is just drag Naidu's name as much as
possible. But it is becoming clear that these attempts will ultimately
benefit Naidu as he comes out a victim and thus drawing sympathy. This
can be seen from the fact that almost 35 cases / enquiries were made
against him from the time he lost elections in 2004. With no evidence
against any of his alleged misdeeds, it is clear that the whole thing
is just a witch-hunt launched against Naidu to malign or defame him.
It is nice to see that frivolous attempts to misuse PIL to score
political points have fallen flat.

It is common knowledge that both Chandrababu Naidu and YSR have disproportionate assets, the latter much more than the former. Many politicians in our country are alleged to have such disproportionate assets. But unfortunately no "real" investigations are done to investigate their assets. Whatever "investigations" are done, they are just a waste of time and energy of both officials as well as the public because nothing really comes out of them.

YSR Congress party leaders are fully corrupted that's why they there doing just publicity stunt. If they have guts come forward and co-operating to CBI. They have looted thousands of cores of rupees i.e. the reason they are afraid of CBI and courts.

the same court ordered CBI investigation against YS Jagan. what prevents
the court to probe into Naidu's wealth. it was not so long ago that Mr
Naidu was considered to be the most corrupt politician in India. whether
it is Mr Jagan or Mr Naidu, they have to face CBI investigation to come
clean on their wealth. Of course this can be done only if the
investigation is done at all

Even if it is a politically motivated case, why cant the court allow CBI
to investigate? If he comes clean, its only better for him.

In Andhra Pradesh, this is routine. Politicians counter attacking others on amassing illegal wealth. What a shame !!
