The Andhra Academy of Arts conducted a talk on Andhra Art - a review by renowned artist Deviprasad here on Sunday as part of the 58th annual celebrations.

In his visual presentation, the artist said that the art in Andhra Pradesh was in transition period. The Andhra art, which has a rich past and glory, was now directionless. Apart from constructing the capital city, it was also necessary to develop and promote art in the newly-formed State.

The artists and art were deprived of “even stepmotherly treatment.”The artists feel that they were grossly neglected and concerned about their future, he said.

Academy honorary secretary M.V. Saibabu, artists Osman Ali Khan, Mallik, Srujan, Durga Prasd, and Sunil were among those present.
