The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has demanded that the State Government permit the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing the disproportionate assets case against Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy arrest all Ministers and IAS officers who had a role in the land allotment scams.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, senior leader of TDP Motkupalli Narasimhulu said the deposition of three IAS officers before the CBI who worked as the Collectors of Prakasam and Guntur districts when Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy was the Chief Minister had vindicated the TDP’s allegations once again that YSR regime had benefited private persons hugely by doling out lands.
He sought to know under whose pressure the then Special Secretary to the Chief Minister M.G.V.K. Bhanu’s name was exempted from the list of accused in the disproportionate assets and VANPIC projects cases. The TDP leader demanded that the official be arrested immediately by including him as one of the key accused in the two cases.
The YSR regime had allotted 28,000 acres land in violation of all land acquisition norms for the benefit of one individual Nimmagadda Prasad leading to a scam of Rs. 43,000 crore, he alleged. He said several IAS officers were in the dock now as they failed to disobey even irregular directions of the then Ministers and Chief Minister.
Alleging that the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre was making all efforts to leave Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who was the main beneficiary of all quid-pro-quo deals, off the hook, the TDP leader said the slackness in CBI’s investigation into the cases was evident after YSR Congress Party honorary president Y.S. Vijayamma called on President of India Pranab Mukherjee in Delhi recently.
The TDP leader also sought to know from YSRC as to why it was silent on the alleged involvement of Robert Vadra, son-in-law of AICC president Sonia Gandhi, in financial and realty irregularities.
