Mystery shrouded the death of AR constable Rajasekhar while on duty at the bungalow of the SP here on Sunday.

Enlisted in 2013, the constable, in his 20s, was found dead with a bullet wound in his chest in the morning.

A firearm was close to his body.

Hailing from Srikakulam district, Rajasekhar had reportedly been seeking casual leave since one month but failed to get one.

Weapon misfired?

SP S.V. Rajasekhar Babu ordered an inquiry into the death. The other constables on duty opined that Rajasekhar might have died due to misfire of the weapon.

The family members of the deceased were informed about the incident.

The body was shifted to the government hospital here for autopsy. Investigation is on.
