APHRD institute to come up in Bapatla

May 01, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:50 am IST - BAPATLA:

The coastal town will house the Human Resources Development (HRD) Institute and Training Centre for Andhra Pradesh. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has decided to establish the APHRD Institute on the premises of the extension Training Centre on the GBC Road. Retired IAS Officer D. Chakrapani would be the director general of the institute.

The decision to establish the training centre comes after the Government of Telangana had objected to the use of Marri Chenna Reddy HRD Institute at Hyderabad even after the MCRHRD has been included in Schedule 10 of institutes which could be used by both the states for a period of ten years.

After a bitter battle, the AP Government has decided to establish its own HRD Institute in the capital region.

After initially setting up the HRD Institute at IIIT campus, Nuzivid, the government finally zeroed on Bapatla. The extension training centre is spread across 100 acres and has sufficient infrastructure.

Mr. Chakrapani who has been appointed as director general has already begun preparatory works in setting up the required infrastructure at the HRD Institute.

Training modules would be designed in capacity building of personnel working in various government departments.
