Dairies to be set up under PPP mode in all Smart Cities in the State

Andhra Pradesh government proposes to increase share of milk procurement under organised sector from the existing 30 p.c. to about 70 p.c. in five years by establishing bulk milk cooling units, milk chilling centres and dairy plants with private participation and through cooperatives.

The government also plans to establish dairies in all Smart Cities and extend financial incentive to entrepreneurs for dairying under the provisions of A.P. Reorganisation Act, according to the ‘White Paper on Agriculture’ which was released by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here Wednesday.

It would also facilitate in promoting ‘Vijaya’ as common cooperative brand and make it competitive to international brands. Recognising fisheries as one of the growth engines for economic development, the government plans to establish more fishing harbours in places such as Juvveladinne (Nellore dt.), Uppada (E.G.), Vodarevu ( Prakasam) and Nizampatnam phase-II (Guntur) through Public Private Partnership mode.
