Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana, Guntur MP Jayadev Galla, Secretary (General Administration) N. Srikanth, AP Capital Region Development Commissioner Ch. Sreedhar, and film director S.S. Rajamouli held discussions on the designs of the capital city, Amaravati, with Foster + Partners (F+P) in London on Saturday as per the directions of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

The delegation from Andhra Pradesh has been mandated to suggest improvements to the designs submitted by F+P before Mr. Naidu himself goes into a huddle with Lord Norman Foster and his team of architects and designers at their headquarters on October 24 and 25. Mr. Jayadev tweeted that consultations were under way with the F+P on Amaravati designs.

It may be noted that Mr. Rajamouli met the Chief Minister in Vijayawada last month a few days after Mr. Narayana and Mr. Sreedhar called on him in Hyderabad seeking his inputs on the capital designs. Mr. Naidu wished to lay the foundation for the iconic government buildings on September 30, which he put off to a later date on the pretext that the designs did not match his expectations and needed a revision. F+P designed the Legislature Complex as a diamond-shaped structure and the High Court resembling a Buddhist monument.

Mr. Naidu then roped in Mr. Rajamouli. Besides, he also sought to avail the expertise of another director Boyapati Srinu, who had got Pavitra Sangamam at Ibrahimpatnam beautifully decked up for the Krishna Pushkaram.
