Telangana Governor’s Joint Secretary hurt in road mishap

Joint Secretary to Telangana Governor P.Basant was hurt in a road accident when the car in which he was travelling from Vijayawada to Hyderabad was hit by a vehicle from behind near Narketpalli in Nalgonda district in the early hours of Wednesday.

According to information reaching here, Mr. Basant who works as Joint Secretary to Telangana Governor E.S.L.Narasimhan had availed a day's leave to visit Vijayawada. After finishing his work in Vijayawada, he started for Hyderabad late on Tuesday night. Mr. Basant, who was driving the car neared Narketpalli, when an unidentified vehicle dashed it from the rear.

Mr. Basant sustained head injuries and was rushed to Kamineni Hospitals at Narketpalli. His condition is said to be out of danger. Governor's press secretary Krishnanand told The Hindu on Wednesday that Mr. Basant was recovering and the injuries were not serious. The Governor enquired about the health condition of Mr. Basant, the press secretary said.
