Kiran had exams during the two days following the day he left the campus promising the friends to return soon

An MBBS student from Vijayawada, Sanagasetti Kiran, is missing from Vigan city in Philippines. He is pursuing fourth year medicine in Northern Philippines University, near Manila.

His friends lodged a complaint with the local police there, but did not get much help. Even the college management did not inform the family members about the missing boy. When contacted through an overseas education agency, they refused to respond.

Vijaya Durga, Kiran’s sister, approached the Vijayawada Commissioner of Police N. Madhusudhana Reddy late on Monday informing of the missing boy and sought his help. The police commissioner asked them to send entire information to the Philippine Ambassador in Hyderabad and gave his phone number and e-mail ID. If no reply was forthcoming till 11 a.m. on Tuesday, he promised to intervene.

The boy’s father, Ravi Kumar who is a hotelier, is in New Delhi seeking a visa to visit Philippines to trace the boy.

According to the boy’s mother Adilakshmi, he was staying in Philippines along with 50 other Indian (Telugu) students in the college hostel and had gone out taking his passport and a bag last Tuesday, never to return.

The classmates of Kiran informed the family members here last Thursday, when he did not show up for two days. Kiran had exams during the two days following the day he left the campus promising the friends to return soon.
