About 100 passengers from different places who went on river cruise were in grip of fear for more than one hour as the private boat in which they were returning to Rajahmundry got stuck near Devipatnam. According to revenue officials, the boat ‘Hi-tech Punnami’ started off from Rajahmundry on Monday around 7 a.m. and reached Papikondalu by afternoon. In the return direction, it reached Devipatnam around 4.30 p.m. when the gear box failed stopping the boat midway.

Even as the boat crew started repairing the gear box, tension gripped the passengers.

Finally, the boat started around 6.45 p.m. for Rajahmundry.
